at first i was afraid, i was petrified.

I (officially) HATE DISCO.
I can't do it! It's just so damned horrible! The one thing that I was looking forward
to this year, was making my costume, and what do they give me? DISCO!! I was more
or less infuriated by the fact that my part, is barely a part. I have no lines but "that's
aaaaaalright,"
I thought, "I'll make the hottest disco chick there." I look horrible, flat out.
It is unbelievably hard to look good in disco, and I can't do it. I would post some pictures
that have been facebooked, alas they make me feel like vomiting. That's how bad I look.
This weekend I am hoping to gown downtown in search of a somewhat attractive costume.
Maybe something go go? From what I can tell, go go was the ...er ...best of the 70's disco scene.
The other two main themes are 30's (flapper dresses, pinstripe suits, etc.), and 70's rocker
(leaver jackets, heels, black leggings). Notice how if i was in either of these two groups, i would
A) already have a costume, and B) look hot in it. Two things I can not do with disco. I'm not sure anyone can manage that much though.

but just one night couldn't be so wrong, you make me wanna lose control.

Well, two weeks ago we saw the prom episode of gossip girl. Blair's with Nate, once again, but Chuck still loves her, though "cant make her happy." For numerous years, apparently the Queen Bee had been keeping a little journal of her 'perfect' prom night, with Nate. The perfect evening involved the sketch of a dress. I'm not quite sure if in the series she sketched & designed it herself, or saw it somewhere, then did a quick sketch. In reality, this dress came out as a Marchesa dress back in late 2007, apparently 'B' can see the future. In December 2007 Penelope Cruz did a photo shoot for (US) Vogue, which was shot by Annie Leibovitz in Madrid.

"Beijing, Berlin, London, Paris, Madrid, Sidney... They know how to party"

Later on in November 2008, Dita Von Teese is seen all dolled up in the same gown to the 7th On Sale gala in New York City.

Finally, we see Leighton Meester, as Blair on Prom night. Originally she was dressed in the following black dress, up until her fairy god father left a surprise on her door stop. At least, i'm almost positive that it was this black dress, on account of the episode airing two weeks ago, and the Internet not being as faithful as it could, i cannot be sure.

In between shoots...

And finally, we have the end product, almost. Here we have the prom King and Queen, pre-break up, my apologies if that was a spoiler for anyone, but the episode showed a couple weeks ago. Thus it is your fault if i have ruined the surprise for you. You would not believe how hard it was to find this image. Apparently the Internet is not understanding my needs tonight.

Found one, finally! Personally i find it ridiculous that i spent a good half hour looking for a photo like the following a week or so ago, when it took me only 30 seconds to find this one. Hopefully this means some good karma is coming my way soon!

just enjoy the show

Does anyone remember when i mentioned going to the opera back in mid-meets-early April?
Because i hardly do. Anyways, i never put up pictures on account of not taking any. Well, Sinead's amazing father took some, and the following images were posted up on Facebook not so long back.

Now yes, i do realise that the pictures look 90% alike, but that's alright, because we still look hot. From left to right, we have Sinead, Vanessa, myself, and Hannah. At approximately 4 o'clock we all arrived at Sinead's for tea, and to dress up together. Possibly the best two things about being a teenage girl. As we all marched into Sinead's room, dresses in hand, we found a bag from... Zarah's I believe, and a card for our dear friend. Long story short, earlier that day her father drove for an hour into town to buy a dress that she had tried on a few months earlier(three to be exact), drove another hour back home so that it would be home for her, and left it as a wonderful surprise. Us all being emotional girls at times, that left us all with tears. Vanessa's dress was made by the oh so talented Hannah, a future fashion designer that I plan on having coffee and such with from time to time, that and eyeing some people we see around town. Well, Hannah didn't completely make it, but she did alter it quite a bit. For quite a while Vanessa has been wanting an old lady floral dress, but altered. Like the above. My dress is quite old actually. I bought this... well my mother bought this for me in the seventh grade for a school dance. That was the first, and up until April fourteenth, was the only time this dress had been worn in public. A large number of close friends weren't exactly fans of the fancy wear, but I still adore the large buttons, and vintage feel I receive when wearing it. Now, Hannah, she was wearing a lovely figure skating dress actually. It's quite short, so my apologies for it going unnoticed in the picture. Her shoes were too cute though, alas they are much to hard to explain. Before we walked into the Theatre, we walked through downtown all dressed up and fancy looking for a nice spot for dinner. We settled with this cute little Tai (?) restaurant.

i make them good girls go bad

First of all, thank you Stephanie for the loan of your dress today, tres tres cute. Ironic how she bought the dress in Paris, the dress is pretty short on me, but i still looked mighty fine. Matched with a purple vest, an old, worn looking necklace, and brown 'cowboy' boots, i felt like a pirate almost, but in the good way. I wasn't sure that was possible actually. It's pretty hard to see from the image, but the dress is a lighter shade gray, and looks ripped, and worn. I absolutely love it!
I found the pieces for my costume today, or so i hope. The full outfit is still a surprise though, and i will likely do many more touch-ups and rearrangements. I didn't buy it all, but found 90% in the costume room. As already mentioned before, I did buy my boots, although those don't really match the rest of my 70's gear.

I went for a run today, it was the first sunny day in a while, so i figured that i would use the most of it. Also, i do need to get back in shape, hockey season is over, and i did gym last semester. I was only gone for about twenty minutes, but it's a good start. I felt that for a newbie in the running business i looked pretty set. Lulu lemon capri's, gray tank, and white high top converse, I do need real running shoes though, but these will work for now.
I really have no idea why there is such a colour, and brightness difference between the two pictures, i took them within 10 minutes tops of each other. My apologies, though.

you're not sorry, no no no.

Dear reader(s);
you will have to excuse me for a quick couple of moments. This post will have virtually nothing with fashion, but a book. Because i also love books, and have been loving them longer than i have fashion. Yesterday my 9th grade English class finished reading The Chocolate War, and at the moment i am supposed to be writing an essay on it. Which I am 3/5 paragraphs done, and while doing some google research I came across this image (above.) It is an amazing novel, despite the fact that in 2004 it topped the 'banned book list', though personally i think that makes it all the better. The setting is Trinity High School, and they all go to a Christian all boys school (irony in the school's name much?) The protagonist, Jerry, decides to not follow the rules like a proper student and not sell the chocolates that go towards some cause or another. In return Jerry is verbally assaulted, physically assaulted, and forced to face a sadistic teacher. Welcome to Christianity. I am slightly confused as to why this book was banned though. The constant swears, scenes of masturbation, and other visual images don't affect me at all. That's all everyday life at this age. But the acts of administrators (who are Christian no less), and power of some students, who are really good for nothing that really disturb me. Although it is the swearing and sexual scenes that had this book 'put away' for so long.

He sees how quick the water's rising as another raindrop lands.

New skirt! This outfit is from last Sunday, though i wore it to school today also, but with black pumps. This shirt is somewhat old (the last of my scene days) and the skirt i bought last Saturday at the Salvation Army for 4 dollars! I also found some amazing disco boots which shall be used during final projects night this... June?
Pictures will not be posted until after the show, it's going to be a surprise for anyone and everyone that is not part of the production.
That's right-hair cut! I got my bangs cut last Tuesday (a week ago right now) by my friend Billy. He's in the hair program at one of the high schools, and just bought his scissors. I figured 'what the hell' and put my hair in his hands. I wanted my bangs a little bit longer, but i don't mind them like this. I feel very Katy Perry. I've spent the past couple of days going to the glasses store in town trying to get my sunglasses fixed. Sadly on Saturday's they are only open till 1:30 in the afternoon (ridiculous right?!), and on Sunday's they just don't open.
Last Sunday was our last sunny day of the week i suppose. It was cloudy all yesterday, and i'm nearly positive that there was a slight drizzle. Today it was a flat out down pour 80% of the day. Also tres ridiculous. The weather report claimed that there would be 'slight rain' this week. Apparently not, art class was nearly horrifying, there are skylights in our art class that were being pounded on.
Considering i have new pictures up, i'm sure everyone has come to the same conclusion - i have the camera back. Mother dearest doesn't use it at all and i'm the one who bought batteries. So currently, i consider it to be mine.
:)
