suffocated by stress, my life is a mess.

Okay, so no big-but today I looked amazing. Today was the day, that's right, the day. I decided it was time to whip out my ten dollar red plaid men's coat from The Patch. I'm loving this coat more than I think I've loved anything in quite some time. It probably wasn't exactly the best idea to wear this today, as it was actually somewhat sunny today, apposed to the rain attack yesterday afternoon. But, that's okay because I made it, even through the fire drill. Oh, and btw, apparently Fefe Dobson has a coat just like mine, which I'm not okay with. (A-)She wore hers first, as eight years old as it may cause me to sound, I still would have felt better wearing mine in public first. (B-)Didn't she like... die or something? I remember when she popped up when I was in the first or second grade, though others say that she first came around when we were in the third grade. Anyways, suddenly she's back(?) with an actually pretty good song, and she's like eighteen?? I'm sad to admit that this is what I'm doing in my free time.
Today I also started creating my 'Movie Play list', yeah I caved, although I would like to admit that so far it's pretty awesome. For when walking to the bus stop I want bet that you look good on the dancefloor, by the Arctic Monkeys. If I ever got into a school fight (which I highly doubt), swing by Taking Back Sunday would be 100% perfect, luckily enough I have a back up plan for the very occasion. There was once when standing in the commons at school where one kid yelled at this other kid. What the first boy said I didn't catch, although what second guy screamed back was "I'm gonna kill the muthf*cka!!!" What followed was slightly scary, but more hilarious later on, and i couldn't actually fully believe that it really happened. It felt so American high school.
Anywhoo, my Art class theme song most definitely would have to be from the stars, by White Lies. While bent over drawing my 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears' scene, and listening to this song I completely forgot where I really was. Instead of the Art room, it felt more like a drug rehab, or a homeless shelter, kind of like in White Oleander, when Astrid is staying in the orphan's home, and practically lives in their 'art room'. If there ever was a movie about me(which would be completely, and totally awesome), I would make sure that there would be a fire drill, just to exaggerate how much teenagers really are like ants. That's a completely different story though. The song playing while all the kids would walk through the halls with blank faces, and nothing particular on their minds, this song would be perfecto. I first found this song on itunes, it was the free download of the day, and was(is) completely and totally awesome, bang bang,by K'naan, ft Adam Levine(from Maroon 5). Last song now, because every movie has the sad lover side story, no matter what, I think that two days old by Cash Cash would be pretty awesome for the very purpose.
Okay, I'm done my massive rant of absolutely nothing of any importance. Minus a few tiny details, Fefe Dobson for one.

Tomorrow's picture day(I don't know why everytime I say photo day in my head, it sounds so odd), so I really should have gone to bed hours ago. I also still have math homework, which I dont understand the slightest, and have a test on tomorrow. Gotta love highschool!

with everything i've got.

Last Saturday afternoon I noticed that my eye looked... off. Yesterday morning I woke up to the gift of pink eye. Today being a Monday, I was forced to stay home, and my being a nerd, i was not excited. I did want to go to school, and not just because of my double Art 11 block.
So, today I did what anyone else in my predicament would do, stay in their pajamas until 3pm, watch last night's rerun of the VMA's, and sketch. As previously mentioned, I'm going to enter a fashion contest, wish me luck! I only have two ideas drawn out currently that i would like to attempt for the contest, both of which should hopefully be in this post.

These two are the same dress, just different designs. I already have a white dress like so, but it's too small for me, it fits and everything, but it makes my boobs look like pancakes. So, i was thinking if i added a strip of patterned material - such as zebra print- then maybe it would still look alright. The... blob i suppose, down the front of the dress is basically a scarf, sewed on three separate spots. I want it fading from super dark, to light, and back to dark again, though I'm not sure what colour. Suggestions would be nice.
This dress is basically a "black goody bag" dress, I thought of this a month or so ago, but never got around to drawing it out. The idea is that it's baggy pretty much everywhere, but slightly more fitted around the chest, and hangs down from there. It's also a bubble dress, the string hanging from the neck weaves through the material around the neck, and pulls to close the fit to each person's preference.

Only last week (the first week of school) did I finally take home art from my last semester of grade nine. So, along with sketches, those images will go up, and whatever else I think fits, just because I can. I'm trying to get a picture of my outfit that a only put on about an hour ago, but it's not working. Since there's only one of me, I need to set my (mother's) camera on top of something, set the timer, and pose. But my head doesn't fit.
These two are the same piece, the one below is just to show some texture.
I was so proud, and yet so disappointed in the above image. I got 99%, which is amazing, but my close friend Jessica got 100%. Her's got framed.
This last one is quite old, some time during the eighth grade I think, but I still love it.

Okay, well i'm heading out for dinner with my mum, and her mum too, and here's what i've got to show off. My Nana bought this shirt for me on our shopping spree, though she didn't like it much, it was my favourite. Don't mind the mess, or my feet.

I couldn't self describe, but you can't say I didn't try

The other night i found a contest for future fashion designers, and pretty much i need to make an outfit out of reconstructed, thrifted clothing. How perfect is this for me? I've already started a sketch, though i don't think it would be enough for this. My plan for it would be to use a white dress that Emily bought for me a month or so ago, but i just got it a couple weeks ago, it reminds me of something Bonnie, from Bonnie and Clyde would wear. It's a tad too small for me, so i was thinking if i could find the right patterned material to go with it all, i could put a triangle of it in the back to make up for space i need to fit. Lastly i want a scarf to drape across the front of the garment, hopefully something fading from extremely dark purple, to a light violet shade. What does everyone think?

I'd like to point out that Spandex Pony has been given an awesome opportunity! Some people somewhere, bought a cigarette vending machine - I know, weird right? Anyways, check out her page to learn about it, and all that jazz.

Today's the first Saturday since school started last Wednesday - Bonjour 10th grade! I don't think i have ever been so excited for a Friday as i was yesterday, though i was ready to pass out by 10:30 pm, there's a first for everything i suppose. Trust me, i wanted nothing more than to take pictures of my first week of 10th grade, but a camera is not in my hands right now.
Day 1(Wednesday):
  • Black empire waist from stitches, big bow at waist
  • Indigo necklace Tia got me from London waaay back
  • Black boots,
  • At the moment i forget what shirt
  • White almost 'hippy' like shirt, it makes me feel quite indie.
Day 2(Thursday):
  • Cream button up shirt, looks almost Victorian
  • Purple and blue plaid skirt-literally looks like it was cut off a man's button up shirt.
  • My 'army' belt, that makes me feel awesome, it has 3 small separate belt on it, one's dark gray to go with the rest of the belt, one is an old looking white. Something that was one white, 30 years ago, and is now aged. The last is a darker, more yellow shade of the previous.
  • Gray leggings
  • Brown boots
Trust me, i felt extremely full of myself, i knew i looked good, and i was told way too many times. I feel like I'm bragging way to much, but this is the only outfit i will feel so good about.
Day 3(Friday):Black jeans
  • Dark blue, 3/4 length shirt
  • Gray vest
  • Black boots
  • Pink plaid headband
For the past couple months i have been trying to grow out my hair, but now i am really not liking it. I have two completely looking hair styles that i am thinking about, one extremely long that would take forever to get to. The other is very short, which i could go strait to, but then it would take me even longer to grow it out in the long run.

Long:

Short:

I had my first hockey practice of the season this afternoon, i do believe i may have died, and spontaneously came back. My back hurts so much, but I'm hoping i can get back into shape soon enough.

With school starting less than a week ago, i have to get back into the schedule of waking up so early, and remembering classes. My A block is pre-AP English 10, which i tried to switch into a different class for a specific teacher, no luck. B block is pre-AP Art 11, trust me, it's not as intimidating as it sounds, just kinda lame. Everyone else being in grade 11, and maybe a few from Grade 12, no one talks, or does anything. Hello next 6 odd months of my life.

head to toe, you know she's dressed to kill, and she could the way she's looking at me.

Here's yesterday and today's outifts, it just came to my attention that I look almost the exact same though. The most of yesterday was spent in town on an adventure to try and find some things, most things weren't found though. I wore a simple purple tank-top from Garage, and one of my new favourite skirts that was $10.00 from a boutique downtown. As Stephanie and I walked through the doors, the lady at the sales desk told us that all clothing in the store would be, $10.00-lucky right? Completed with the usual black boots, and a black purse.

Although I haven't gone anywhere yet today, I'm still dressed up. I was going to go into town at some point, but I am feeling quite lazy. Maybe later? Today's wear includes a purple blouse I bought with my Nana a couple of weeks ago, which was around $10.00. The skirt is black, with white polka-dots, that was somewhere between $5 and $10 at the Patch. The sunglasses are my fake raybands, which I also bought at the Patch. Lastly, we have Edward, my perfect pup, although he's afraid of everything, and smells a bit, I still love him to bits.

you said you'd keep my honest, but i wont call you on it.

I know, I suck right? I've been busy, my mother has been working, I don't have a camera, I've been to warped, and too much has happened to catch up on. I'll talk about whatever events I have pictures from. It would be understandable if you hated me, or had completely forgotten about me. I suppose on that note, I'm kinda lucky that there's barely a handful of people reading this.
On a small note, whoever has been following the at random, barely there posts, you will remember that I mentioned in my last post that I went to go see Harry Potter in theatres. I also mentioned that I had 'made' a dress. I have pictures from the event, and I have a picture of the dress before I found it, but it is on my broken computer. I was going to wait until that was fixed, but that is just taking much too long. When Emily arrived at my house in the afternoon, I was lounging in my backyard with Lacey, reading Harry Potter. Here are a few moments from the day.

Oh how I love Hermione.

Throughout the month of August, Bri and I have grown quite close. The two of us have spent almost everyday of the past month together. We wander through our subdivision on adventures, tan at the beach that is a short walk from our houses, and we watch movies. I know, we sound like the typical girls on a summer day, right?

Everyone knows about Warped Tour, right? Well, just in case for some ridiculous reason, like you live in China or something, It's an amazing concert/tour (obviously). They tour across the States, and hit up a couple of spots in Canada, luckily one of them was close enough to my location. There are too many bands to count, but if you care enough, hit up Google, and do some searching. While Stephanie, Hannah, Sinead and I were there, we also met Dallas Green (of City and Colour, and Alexisonfire), and Tegan (from Tegan and Sarah). In the following images, it may become noticeable that I am the only on with that shade of blond (or any for that matter), trust me, it was noticed by others there also. After only being through the front gates for about five minutes, we walked past a Vans tent, there was a man with a megaphone calling out funny comments to whoever he saw deserved them. As we walked by, he called out on his megaphone "Hey, why are you the only one without blond hair, huh?"

Sinead and I getting ready on the Ferry.
Stephanie getting ready, also on the ferry.

Last, but definitely not leastly, the girl who made it all happen, Hannah, doing her hair on the ferry.

All of us girls after a long day of moshing.

On a final, ending note, I spent the better part of the last week volunteering with a group of teens around my age. Because of the fact that I don't have a camera that would be suitable for that type of work, I couldn't take any. Luckily for me, most people don't have giant Nikon cameras, and so they could take pictures. Hopefully whatever pictures have been taken will be up and loaded soon, and so I will have access of them soon also.

i hope it's gonna make you notice, someone like me.

Now, before I write anything of much importance, i need to apologise in behalf of
the month of July. I don't have a good excuse for posting twice before now, though
I would like to believe that I have good reason at least. As previously mentioned, I
was grounded for two weeks, well I also broke my computer monitor in the process
of moving it from one side of my room to another. So now I no longer have access to
that computer, or my photos. My mother does typing, it's her job. Thus she needs this
computer at about all times.
Because of being the nerd that I am, I needed to see the new Harry Potter movie, the day
it came out. That lucky Thursday the 16th, i was let out on 'parole' to go see it. I also
finished the dress that I was working on. Although, that night I was swept off my feet
until the following Tuesday (the 21st) for working duties. Lastly, the past week was spent
blowing my hard earned money on cute clothes. Sadly, picture's weren't taken, but I
promise to take some 'after' pictures, just because I can.

To the point, doesn't everyone have that one 'bike' that they're too ashamed of to
actually learn to ride, or even ride in public for that matter? Because I know I do. I've
had the same red bike since the summer after 5th grade, it also has flat tires. Here's my
bright idea.
Really now, who doesn't want one of these? I've been absolutely dyeing for one for the past couple of years, sadly they're all $300 and up, give or take. Imagine how good it would feel riding across the bridge, an empire waist, flowing skirt, low rise converse, a rusty old red, or blue bike.
Simply a picture perfect image in my mind!

I am the only one that thinks I'm going crazy?

Would it be wrong to admit to everyone that last Thursday (July 9th in B.C. time) was the first time since last Sunday (a week ago today) that I got dressed?... or showered for that matter? In my defence, I knew for a fact that I would not be leaving the house, or really my own bedroom for that matter, so I didn't see it of any importance to get out of my Care Bear pajama shorts, or my "IS IT TOO LATE TO BE NICE?" (Christmas) pajama shirt. Oh, and...by the way, my hair wasn't actually that frizzy, I did just get back from a walk (with an extremely hot temperature), but no, it definitely wasn't that bad.

I've spent the most part of the past week playing Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon (both of which are Gamecube games), watching the first season of Supernatural on DVD - don't worry, I start the 2nd later tonight- aaaaand, fixing old clothes.
The first of the line of clothing articles that have been fixed in the past week are a pair of red shorts - which used to be red skinny jeans, back in the scene days- that I wore to Pride Parade '09 last Sunday. That's the mane reason for my being stuck at home for the past (and next) week, I'm grounded. I haven't taken an 'after' picture yet, and technically I didn't take a 'before' one either, though i do have one from the day i bought them... a year-and-a-half ago. So, they are much faded now.
Next is an old polo that i bought for about 4 dollars at Off The Wall, for before school shopping about two years ago (that would be going into 8th grade by the way). I'm pretty sure that I only wore the tee once or twice, so if worst came to worst, I just wouldn't ever wear it again. Luckily for me, it turned out amazing, and so I wore it today to VOLKSFEST, and another old car show in town, it was lovely. Well... not counting the weather, for the first time all week, it wasn't about 30 odd degrees.
Alright well... there's the 'before' of the polo, and see right down there? That's what I wore today, and there's the shirt. Any feedback?
What i'm working on now -obviously- isn't done yet. It's a cute old dress that I thrifted for a couple of dollars from this old thrift shop. It's not done yet -I still need to obtain a (hopefully) white zipper- but whenever I think about it, a cat of impossible colour's one dress from early May comes to mind. Although, now that I actually look at it, the two dresses have nothing more in common besides the obvious -they're both dresses.
Today a very close family friend gave me a watch, he told me that my mother gave it to him about 10 years ago (I would have been about 5), and that it likely cost about 4, maybe $500, so I better not lose it. It represents family, and sacrificing for those that you love, I mean the people who you really, really love. Not just the ones that you say you do, but you really, truly do, the people in your life who you would give anything for, and hopefully they would do anything for you too. Those people, are the ones that everyone should keep close to them, and never stop letting them know how much you need them,

A 'new' camera also came into my possession today, it once belonged to my... Nana's boyfriend? I suppose my uncle has had it for the past 15 odd years, moving it from house to house, now that he has come up with some financial troubles, hes just sending boxes of his old stuff to the dump, this camera being one of them. Yeah, I was appalled too. I guess my mum got it from him before it was too late, and just remembered to give it to me today. Finally! Life is complete! I have a late 70's - meets early 80's Nikon EM camera. Yes, hippie strap is most definitely included.

P.S. Dear cat, what does one do when the LOML no longer... has the same idea?

Happy Canada Day eh(?)!

Well, today being July first, it's Canada day, yippee! Earlier this morning I was thinking about how odd "America Day" would sound, then I realised that they don't call it that. It's "The Fourth of July", which is also just odd in my opinion. Being Canadian I suppose that i should be wearing some red in order to be patriotic, but I'm not. I don't have time to take a picture before I go to bed, so here's some from the festivities. My apologies for the outcome.
Ellie and I, the black thing is Lee's coat, kinda screws up the point of this.Alright well....despite this being an utterly horrible picture, this shows my outfit the best. I didn't plan on wearing the sweater though, or any sweater at all through out the day, being July it's usually warm all night long.
This is Emily! We're pretty close, she did steal my glasses though. ;)
